2.2.3 Care Unit

The Careunits table, stores information pertaining to the different ICU rooms in the hospital. Figure 2.4 shows the careunit table and its relationship with other event tables in the database. When a note is filed, a problem occurs or a chart event is entered, the particular care unit in which the event took place is recorded. The careunit table only contains a cuid (care unit id) and the unit name, but is used in many places to record the location in which events took place. Table 2.2 shows some sample content.
